Luxury...

i know for sure before i began this journey, i was not aware of life - i was aware of all the things i wanted & wanted to be but not of life itself.

luxury to me is the freedom to walk the streets of our country, luxury to me is the freedom of choice, the freedom of opinion, the freedom of thought, the freedom to love.

luxury is feeling the kiss of the cool autum air on my face in the morning

luxury is the delivery of a healthy baby to their parents

luxury is family & friends

luxury is having a bed to sleep in 

luxury is the hugs from my children

luxury is the whispering of my husbands voice telling me he loves me

luxury to me is the freedom to dream, & to believe that my dreams may one day come true.

my home, my life are filled with luxuries

 

there has been a moment somewhere in time that we have mistaken commercialism for luxury.

possibly believing that things not freedoms are the luxuries we deserve for running this crazy life treadmill.. take that moment back..

If I knew then what i know now...

I wouldn't change a thing, not one single thing... 

To change anything would change where i have ended up & that would not bless me with the two most beautiful children in the world, my best friend, my lover, my shoulder to cry on - my husband, or even our two very crazy dogs..  

Nor would it bring me to be chasing my dreams - two dreams that will take me a path of challenging new self confronting thoughts & experiences that only those who dare to dream know of.

Please don't mistake me i have a fear of failure & up until this point it has held me back from doing so many things.

So it is with blind faith i push forward into the unknown, always with encouragement from those who love me most..

Sometime ago my husband read a book & remembered a quote which i now hear often........

Feel the fear & do it anyway...

Welcome Ava Carter..

So many people search their whole lives for something they love to do.. Me i know the things i love to do.. Spend time with my husband, play with my babies, eat food, drink & be merry.. Take photo's of pretty much anything & wait for it....... restore chairs! Observe them, think about them, feel them & picture them loved in beautiful houses...

So to continue to follow my dream i put out the call to all family memebers - please if you see an old chair pick it up & let me play.. My mother found this chair in a little shop near where she lives, it was well loved by someone for a long time before me. That is what i love about chairs,  no doubt at some point someone has contemplated a life moment sitting in this very chair. No doubt someone has closed their eyes with the hope of a little rest after a long day.. When i sand them & choose their new cover fabric i think about all the places they might have lived before coming to me for a little TLC.. 

They feel special when i work on them - it has become rather a passion to work on my chairs, so I have put together an 09 collection.. Ava Carter Chairs has been born or should i say reborn...

Beautiful...

Sunday's are the perfect day.. i worked my dream job.. 

Amy & Bryan got married, & i was there to ensure their memories

will be with them in pictures forever & ever.. 

Weddings are so special & so unique that every single one amazes me...

A&B spoke to each other so softly & with a tender respect that i will always

remember, tears were shared as promises were made & pictures were created.

My favorite day of the week..

Sunday is by far the best day of the week - it is inspiring, fun, easy going and always over to quickly..

But the rose colored glasses will last all day as will the never ending "mums" & "my love's".

Sunday's were once about sleeping in, always a long breakfast, random trips back to bed & maybe something got done at some part of the day.  I only occasionally miss that surprisingly, four years ago Sunday's changed forever...

But it sure was for the better....

My husband and I went through so many names before i arrived at the happy gallery - i love it, he not so much...

I wish for more happiness in the world, more smiles, more laughter, more fun..

When i see beautiful things it makes me feel beautiful, to actually be able to create beautiful things is a gift.

Thank you Wednesday..

Yesterday I realised for the millionth time just how lucky I am..

For everything I have, love & miss..

I am on my way to my dream with a job on Wednesday of this week that went well..
It's a funny feeling to be chasing a dream - this week has been like being at the starting line of a race waiting for the gun to sound, and it did and I didn't miss the start I have hit the mark..

It feels like there is so much to learn and discover - it's an almost childlike feeling & it's so freeing. A feeling not often felt when the wain of monday to friday responsiblity wares on me to often.

Thank you my beautiful husband for your faith, I promise it will be worth it..
Thank you Wednesday for giving me an insight into what my life might one day be like..

The day ahead..

Being that it is now 4.30am I thought it was time to get started, get my life kick started so it can be what I want it to be.. All the big dreams & all the little dreams....

So positive action is needed, no more complaining about what I don't have time for, or don't know how to get just time to get into the work & leave the dream destroyers behind..
